Heather van Niekerk

Heather van Niekerk holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and has over 15 years of experience in the NGO sector working with local and international organisations. Heather was employed as the Regional Finance Manager at Save the Children International in the Southern Africa Regional office and was the Executive Director of Amnesty International South Africa prior to that.  She is currently employed as the Operations Director for Sonke Gender Justice.  Heather has served on a number of Boards including Transparency International South Africa and Amnesty International South Africa.  She is currently a Board member of Oxfam South Africa. 

Kone Gugushe 

Kone Gugushe is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has worked with major financial and accounting institutions such as Moores Rowland, Standard Bank and JP Morgan specialising in private equity and micro lending since 2001. Kone joined Nedbank in 2007 and in 2010 as a result of her passion for community development she was appointed as the Divisional Executive, Corporate Social Responsibility at Nedbank in 2010.  In addition to her success in the private sector Kone is passionate about community development and the welfare of others.  She served on the board of the African Women Chartered Accountants for 6 years.

Kusile Mtunzi-Hairwadzi

Kusile Mtunzi-Hairwadzi holds a Masters in Business Administration and particular interest and abilities in the areas of brand management and marketing.  Kusile has more than 18 years of experience in leadership positions in diversified and complex organisations.  With more than 15 years of experience in the socio economic development space Kusile brings a wealth of experience in leadership within the corporate social investment environment.  Kusile is currently the General Manager of the MTN South Africa Foundation

Sherry McLean

Sherry McLean is a qualified social worker and development advisor who has gathered over 25 years of experience working with a wide range of organisations including bi-lateral, philanthropic, national and international NGOs in Ireland and sub-Saharan Africa including Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Lesotho.  For the past 20 years she has worked in Southern Africa and brings to TLAC specific experience in areas such as: strategic planning, programme evaluation, managing for development results and; gender equality, training and research in gender based violence.  Sherry has been on the Board of Tshwaranang since 2013.
