Invitation to an exhbition: Seeing through a safety lens

As part of Women’s month, please join the Tshwaranang Legal Advocacy Centre at an event launching the virtual photographic safety exhibition: “Seeing Through a Safety Lens: Women’s Photographic Safety Audit” This event will launch our on-line safety exhibition, featuring over 40 photos taken by women in Johannesburg and Soweto. The participants of the photographic safety audit were given disposable cameras and asked to capture images of what made them feel safe and unsafe in their communities. At this event, each photographer will showcase a piece of their work and give a brief explanation of why it represents an unsafe place or danger to them. Representatives from SALGA, local government, and other departments concerned with local safety will respond to the exhibition and discuss community safety issues.
