Decriminalise prostitution to prevent abuse by police

by Peta Krost Maunder, the Weekender July 18, 2009 THE head of the Gauteng Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD ) says the government should consider decriminalising the sex industry to curb police sexually and physically abusing sex workers. Adv Siphokazi Moleshe said this week at a Tshwaranang Legal Advocacy Centre seminar on police abuse of sex workers, that this was one of the few solutions to this problem. Read the full article
