Nombulelo Mkhuma's has worked as a trauma counsellor,  a facilitator and trainer for Lifeline in the  area of HIV/AIDS and a fieldworker for gender research projects at the Centre for the Study of Violence and reconciliation (CSVR).  In March 2006, Nombulelo participated  in   "Get on the Bus - Stop Violence Against Women and Children Campaign," travelling  to all 9 provinces while engaging with communities on the subjects of the Sexual Offences Bill and Gender Violence. She joined the Legal Unit of TLAC in May 2006 as a Paralegal Officer. Nombulelo is the mother of two energetic boys: Ntokozo (7 years) and Samkelo (3 years).
