Lisa Vetten has worked in the area of violence against women as a counsellor, trainer, researcher and activist since 1991. She was employed as the Program Manager of the Gender Program of the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) from March 1998 to April 2006. Prior to that she worked for the Sexual Harassment Education Project (SHEP), the South African NGO Secretariat for Beijing and People Opposing Women Abuse (POWA). She has written a number of articles and reports on the subject of gender-based violence and related matters. Her publications include:

• “Spiral of Entrapment: Battered women in conflict with the law.", a book co-authored with Hallie Ludsin
